It's Monkey With a Hat On's 14th installment of the Ten Minute Play Festival!

This time it will be three nights of Superhero themed plays! The Monkey writers will take you through the lesser known aspects of the lives of superheroes and supervillains. They can't always be in an intergalactic battle or saving planets from utter annihilation right?

The Portland Ten Minute Play Festival is a seasonal collaborative event that features ten locally written ten minute plays for three nights in a row (same plays each night). Each play features different writers, directors, and actors—many people are involved! The festival is an opportunity for Portland artists to create unique moments and for the audience to experience a wide range of stories in one night. It’s a fun, festival atmosphere!

For our 14th festival, the theme is Superheroes! Think: Real superheroes incognito at a comic convention, Lois Lane's first date after Superman, a demented interview for a new alter ego, an out of work superhero employed by the state Lottery, an origin story gone awry, powers of seeing into the future at a bus stop, villains and heroes at group therapy, expert car crash preventer training, the past of a catty cat burglar catching up with her and a super dispute over who's stealing lunches in the breakroom.

This time around the vintage rock and roll video game sounds of GMNI will be blowing your minds in between each play, connecting the stories with his multi-instrumental ways!

This Fall, Monkey With a Hat On invites you to come out to Superheroes. All the things you've wondered about superheroes and supervillains will be performed on-stage three nights in a row. It's gonna be an extraordinary...no...stupendous...wait...a SUPER performance!
