It's Monkey With a Hat On's 13th installment of the Ten Minute Play Festival!

This time it will be three nights of Taboo-themed plays, so be prepared for the hair-raising, belly-aching and heart-wrenching Taboo Ten Minute Play Festival!

The Portland Ten Minute Play Festival is a seasonal collaborative event that features ten locally written ten minute plays for three nights in a row (same plays each night). Each play features different writers, directors, and actors—many people are involved! The festival is a seasonal opportunity for Portland artists to share moments, and for the audience to experience a wide range of stories in one night. It’s a fun, festival atmosphere!

For our 13th festival, the theme is Taboo! Think: Mormons wanting to drink a Coca-Cola, a friendly escort service, a suicidal man with necrophilia tendencies, eating whale sushi, a brother's dark secret, the devil wanting to give away his soul, the jumper on the roof, missionaries and marijuana, what not to do at a funeral, and two Catholic school students committing blasphemy.

We are also pleased to provide interlude music in between the plays from the talented violinist, Djinn Maury. He will take the audience on a Taboo journey, playing the story to us all.

This Summer, Monkey With a Hat On invites you to come out to Taboo. What you are not supposed to talk about will be performed on-stage three nights in a row, and it's gonna be a hot performance!

Get your tickets online ahead of time to make sure that you get a seat! The last two play festivals we sold out all three nights, and we are expecting another full house this time around!
